Yoga for Chronic Pain and Trauma Recovery

Private yoga with me is a one-to-one healing practice for those living with chronic pain, trauma or anxiety who want to use yoga as a resource for recovery — outside the clinical framework of therapy, and at their own pace.

Each session draws on twenty years of personal practice, informed by my training as a trauma psychotherapist, and student of somatic experiencing. We work directly with the nervous system — using active practices, restorative poses, breath, somatic awareness and movement — to help the body learn, gradually and without force, that it is safe. To help the body remember its innate dignity and strength.

What a session involves

  • A brief opening conversation — what the body is carrying, what you need today

  • A tailored yoga practice for your unique needs

  • Somatic tracking — learning to meet sensation with curiosity rather than fear

  • Breath work and subtle body practices drawn from the Tibetan and Hatha traditions

  • A closing integration — a somatic prayer, reflection or dedication

  • Something to carry forward — a practice or quality of attention for your week

  • Personalized sequences between sessions

This is for you if

No prior yoga experience required. We begin exactly where you are.

Session details

Length:  75 minutes

Location:  In person in Ottawa  ·  Online via Zoom

Single session:  $165

Package of four:  $550  (saving $50)

Package of eight:  $1000  (saving $200)
